Shengxun elevator is a professional elevator manufacturing company integrating elevator development, design, manufacturing, installation and maintenance.
1. Basic concepts of traction drive system
The traction drive system, as the name implies, realizes the lifting and lowering movement of the elevator car and counterweight through traction. This system makes full use of the friction principle in physics, and drives the freight elevator up and down along the vertical guide rail through the traction force generated by the traction machine. Compared with other types of elevators (such as hydraulic and screw types), traction elevators have the advantages of simple structure, stable operation, large lifting height, and low energy consumption. Therefore, they are widely used in high-rise residential buildings, commercial buildings, logistics warehouses and other places where goods need to be transported frequently.
2. Core components of traction drive system
The traction drive system is mainly composed of the following key parts:
Traction machine: As the power source of the entire system, the traction machine is usually composed of an electric motor, a reducer, a traction wheel, etc. The electric motor provides power, the reducer reduces the speed and increases the torque, and the traction wheel transmits power through friction with the wire rope. The surface of the traction wheel is designed with special rope grooves to ensure that the wire rope can fit tightly and effectively transmit the traction force.
Wire rope: As the transmission medium of traction force, the wire rope bears the entire weight of the car and counterweight, and must have high strength, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and other characteristics. The use of multiple wire ropes in parallel not only improves the safety of the system, but also maintains the normal operation of the elevator when a single wire rope breaks.
Guide wheel and anti-ropes wheel: The guide wheel is installed at the top or bottom of the shaft to guide the wire rope to change direction and ensure that the car and counterweight run stably on the vertical track. The car anti-ropes wheel and the counterweight anti-ropes wheel are installed on the top of the car and the counterweight frame respectively, further dispersing the tension of the wire rope and enhancing the stability and durability of the system.
Braking system: The traction machine brake is a key component of elevator safety. When the elevator reaches the designated floor or encounters an emergency, the brake can respond quickly and lock the traction wheel through friction to keep the position of the car and counterweight unchanged to prevent the elevator from moving accidentally.
3. Working principle of traction drive system
The working principle of traction drive system is based on the balance between friction and gravity. When the traction machine starts, the motor drives the traction wheel to rotate, and the friction between the traction wheel rope groove and the wire rope drives the wire rope and the car and counterweight connected to it to move up and down. Due to the weight difference between the car and the counterweight, the system adjusts the size and direction of the traction force to achieve dynamic balance of energy and ensure the smooth operation of the elevator. When the elevator stops, the brake acts quickly to lock the traction wheel to ensure the stability of the elevator position.
4. Advantages and Challenges of Traction Drive System
The advantages of the traction drive system are its high efficiency and energy saving, stable operation, low maintenance cost and strong adaptability. However, with the continuous development of elevator technology, higher requirements are put forward for the noise control of the traction machine, the extension of the life of the wire rope and the reliability of the braking system. In addition, in the face of the growing demand for super-high-rise buildings, how to further improve the lifting capacity and stability of the traction system is also the focus of current research.
